Cartographic viewer

The IDE-CHG’s cartography visualization client allows overlapping and customizing of different information layers stored in the organization database, thus offering the users an integrating view of the river basin territory. It also provides the possibility to consult geographic data housed in external servers under different formats and having different coordinates systems, as long as they comply with the OGC specifications relating to Web Map Services (WMS).

In general terms the cartographic viewer allows the execution of the following operations:

• Basic visualization functions (zoom in, zoom out, pan, etc.).
• Consulting information about the layers and related alphanumeric tables.
• Measuring distances and surfaces over the map.
• Modifying data visualization order.
• Customizing visual properties of the layers (colour, thickness, transparency, labelling, etc.) and generating theme compositions.
• Printing the visualized area.
• Exporting to Google Earth format (.kmz).
• Alphanumeric queries using boolean operators.
• Searching by coordinates.
• Consulting the historic series from the monitoring point (unverified data, it may contain mistakes).
• Downloading metadata files (Spanish Core Metadata - ISO 19115) and layers (.shp, etc.).
